Common-sense approach for the traffic problems of Route 45 & Grass Lake Road

The Lake County Department of Transportation (LCDOT) has decided to move IL Route 45 west from its current location at Grass Lake Road to directly next to 1 sub-division, thru another sub-division, with over 200 homes and families. As if this isn't bad enough the chosen bypass will cut directly through the southeast end of McDonald Woods Forest Preserve. The LCDOT presented alternate plans to the community to get feedback and by an overwhelming majority, most felt moving Route 45 east would be the best decision as this would run it thru corn fields and open land.

LCDOT did ask the opinion of the residents this project would affect, and clearly the public is being ignored:

A lot of facts had been presented by the LCDOT as to why moving Route 45 west was the best decision, but they neglected to include into their equations the safety concerns of the residents, our children's health, property values declining, and a host of other facts which common-sense will tell you that moving IL Route 45 east is the best option.
